1. Welcome to FamChat

These terms are an agreement between you and Outside HQ LTD ("we", "us", "our") for using the FamChat app. By using FamChat, you're agreeing to these terms.

You must be at least 13 years old to use FamChat. We do not allow users under 13.

2. What FamChat Does

FamChat is a family AI chat app with parental controls. Families can chat with AI, and parents can monitor and control what their children access.

3. Age Requirements

  • Minimum age: You must be 13 or older to use FamChat
  • 13-17: You need a parent's permission to use the app
  • 18+: You can use the app independently

We do not knowingly allow users under 13. If we learn that someone under 13 has created an account, we will delete it.

4. Your Account

You're responsible for:

  • Keeping your login details secure
  • Everything that happens on your account
  • Providing accurate information
  • Telling us immediately if someone else accesses your account

5. Family Accounts

Family owners and parents can:

  • Add and manage family members
  • Set parental controls and content filters
  • Monitor activity and receive alerts
  • Manage the subscription

Parental controls help you supervise your children, but they're not a replacement for active parenting. Please stay involved in how your children use the app.

6. What You Can't Do

Please don't:

  • Break any laws
  • Try to bypass parental controls or security features
  • Send harmful or inappropriate content
  • Pretend to be someone else
  • Try to hack or reverse-engineer the app
  • Use bots or automated tools
  • Use the app for commercial purposes without permission

7. About AI Responses

Our AI tries to be helpful, but please understand:

  • AI responses aren't always accurate or complete
  • Don't rely on AI for medical, legal, or financial advice
  • We filter content, but can't guarantee everything is appropriate for all ages
  • You use AI features at your own risk

8. Subscriptions and Payments

If you subscribe to premium features:

  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal
  • Payments are processed through the App Store or Google Play
  • Manage or cancel subscriptions in your device's app store settings
  • Refunds follow Apple's or Google's refund policies

9. Our Content

FamChat and its content belong to Outside HQ LTD. You can't copy, modify, or redistribute it without our permission.

Anything you create or share through the app remains yours, but you give us permission to use it to provide our services.

10. Closing Accounts

We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms. You can also delete your account anytime in the app settings or by contacting us.

11. The App is Provided "As Is"

We work hard to make FamChat great, but we can't promise it will always work perfectly. The app is provided as-is, and we don't guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted.

12. Limits on Our Responsibility

To the extent allowed by law, we're not responsible for indirect damages like lost profits or data. Our total liability is limited to what you've paid us in the past 12 months.

Some places don't allow these limitations, so they may not fully apply to you.

13. You'll Cover Us

If we get sued or face costs because you broke these terms or misused the app, you agree to cover our reasonable expenses.

14. Which Laws Apply

Depending on where you live:

  • UK: English law applies, and disputes go to English courts
  • EU: Your local laws apply, and you can use your local courts
  • US: Delaware law applies (see Section 15 about resolving disputes)
  • Elsewhere: English law applies, plus any local consumer protections

15. Resolving Disputes (US Users)

If you're in the US and we have a dispute, we both agree to resolve it through individual arbitration rather than court or class actions. This means:

  • Disputes go to a neutral arbitrator, not a judge or jury
  • You can't join a class action against us
  • Small claims court is still an option
  • Arbitration can happen by phone, video, or online

Want to opt out? Email support@humanleap.com within 30 days of accepting these terms with your name, address, and a statement that you want to opt out.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. For significant changes, we'll give you 30 days' notice through the app or email. Continuing to use FamChat after changes means you accept them.

17. A Few More Things

  • These terms (plus our Privacy Policy) are our complete agreement
  • If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies
  • If we don't enforce something immediately, it doesn't mean we've given up that right
  • You can't transfer your account without our permission
